What We Measured During a 30-Day Wisdom Healing Qigong Retreat

In October 2025, we conducted a clinical bio-field measurement study during a full 30-day Sacred Rebirth Qigong retreat held in New Mexico. For those who have experienced Wisdom Healing Qigong directly, the effects in the body are often clear. And, this study allowed us to observe those changes in a different way by measuring what was happening over time within a sustained field of practice.

What follows is what we observed.

What the Body Showed Us

Energy — The steady accumulation

Participants’ overall bio-field energy rose approximately 16% from the first measurements to the last. The increase was not sudden. It built gradually over the thirty days. The body was not simply recovering after each session. It was accumulating change. Patterns established in one day carried forward into the next.

This points to a basic principle of retreat. Accumulation requires continuity. It does not develop in a short workshop or in isolated daily practice surrounded by the demands of ordinary life. It develops through sustained immersion.

Stress — The consistent release

Stress levels decreased by approximately 9% across the full measurement period. These values reflect averages across multiple daily measurements, which means the nervous system was not only recovering from stress. It was establishing a different baseline.

The body was not managing stress in the usual sense. It was changing how it related to it.

Intensity — The steady rise

Bio-field intensity increased throughout the entire thirty days without leveling off. This indicates that as the chi field became more coherent, it began to organize the energy of each individual body more effectively. The longer the field was sustained, the stronger its organizing effect became.

The organ systems — what changed without being targeted

The most significant measurable changes occurred in systems that participants were not directly focusing on:

+13.1% in the abdominal zone, which corresponds to the lower dantian in Qigong
+11.6% in the pancreas, associated with metabolic and regulatory functions
+11.5% in the respiratory system

These changes suggest that when the whole-body field is supported over time, the body reorganizes itself without targeted intervention. This reflects the underlying approach of Wisdom Healing Qigong. It focuses on creating conditions rather than directing outcomes.

The Threshold — Where Change Begins

Between days four and nine, measurements showed a noticeable dip in energy and intensity. This phase reflects a transition. Long-held patterns begin to loosen, and the nervous system enters unfamiliar territory.

In shorter retreats, this phase often marks the end. It can be interpreted as a loss of progress. The data shows that it is part of the process.

After this phase, energy begins to rise again in a steady and sustained way. The body continues opening once it passes this threshold.

The Entropy Finding — Coherence Over Time

Entropy measures disorder. Lower entropy reflects greater coherence and organization.

During the first half of the retreat, entropy values fluctuated. Participants were arriving with different histories, and the collective field was still forming. The system had not yet stabilized.

As the retreat continued, entropy began to decrease consistently. The field became more coherent. At this point, individual healing was no longer occurring alongside the group. It was occurring within a shared field that had become organized and stable.

Each participant’s process began to reinforce the others. The field functioned as a connected system.

In the final days, entropy decreased more sharply than at any other point in the retreat. Coherence increased further rather than leveling off.

Why the Final Days Matter

The data shows that the strongest coherence in the field occurred at the end of the thirty days. The capacity of the field to support change was greater at that point than at the beginning.

The practice itself did not change. The conditions surrounding the practice became more coherent.

Over many years, this pattern has been observed directly through Embodied Awakening experiences in retreat settings. The measurements now reflect the same pattern in a different form.

The final days are not an extension of the retreat. They represent a distinct phase in which the field reaches its highest level of organization.

A Final Note

Wisdom Healing Qigong works by opening energy flow over time. When those conditions are maintained through consistent practice and a shared field, the body naturally reorganizes itself towards wholeness.

This study reflects what practitioners have experienced directly over many years. It provides another way of observing the same process.

If You Are Considering a Wisdom Healing Qigong Retreat

A peaceful outdoor scene at sunset shows a pond with a small fountain, surrounded by tall trees with golden autumn leaves at The SouthWest Sanctuary. A curved stone pathway runs alongside the water toward an adobe-style building with wooden beams and doors. Mountains rise in the distance under a warm, glowing sky, creating a tranquil, retreat-like atmosphere.

In May 2026, Master Mingtong Gu will hold two intensive retreats at SouthWest Sanctuary in New Mexico.

The 16-Day Embodied Awakening Retreat includes the initial phases of the process, including arrival, threshold, and early stabilization.

The 30-Day Sacred Renewal Retreat continues through the phase in which the field becomes most coherent and the effects deepen.
