Something is not working. You feel it. Something in you knows there is more: more health, more aliveness, more peace inside this body. But time passes and the patterns stay.
What you have been looking for is not a new technique. It is a new field.
Most programs hand you more to think about, more to try, more to add to the pile. But you have never been short on information.
What has been missing is an experience your body can actually feel. That is the difference here.

And on August 8, something else: the first public reveal of the Bio-Well science data from the October retreat, and a major announcement at 3:30pm — exclusive to everyone in the room.
The last time Master Mingtong taught in person in the Bay Area, it was March 2020.
The world was changing in ways none of us had language for yet. He gathered with the WHQ community — online, from a friend’s home in Marin named Savitri — before returning to Santa Fe. What they held together that evening: fear, overwhelm, the weight of collective uncertainty.
Online teaching held people through what could not be held alone. Technology connects across distance. And there is something it cannot replicate: the felt weight of being in the same room. The field that forms between bodies that can sense each other, not through a screen, but through the air.
Both are real. Both matter. On August 8, one of them comes to where you already are.
Most healing events offer content. Coming Home to Yourself is different in kind, not just in degree.
Master Mingtong Gu teaches every session himself. No prepared curriculum. No manual to follow. No content delegated to assistants. The teaching goes exactly where the field goes: deeper and wider as the hours accumulate, responding to what is alive in the bodies in the room, never the same twice.
“Every group is different. I teach each retreat as if it is the first time. That is how we create real change.”
— Master Mingtong Gu
What you receive is not information. It is transmission: direct, living contact with the field of Wisdom Healing Qigong — held by more than thirty years of practice and the collective energy of everyone present.
No performance required. No expectation of how healing should look, or how fast it should happen. You arrive as you are. The field meets you there.
Last spring, thirty people gathered at Southwest Sanctuary in the high desert of New Mexico — in the Kiva, a space built for exactly this kind of healing. For thirty days, they practiced together. The field that formed between them was measurable, biological, and profound.
Those stories come from the Kiva. On August 8, the teacher who held that field comes to San Rafael.
Not a livestream. A room. Two hundred people. One teacher. One field.
Master Mingtong Gu is the founder of Wisdom Healing Qigong and The Chi Center, and has guided tens of thousands of students across six continents.
His teaching isn’t a curriculum. It’s a transmission: direct, living, and never repeated the same way twice. His students consistently describe the same paradox, the most intensive healing experience of their lives, and at the same time the most restful.
He grew up in rural China during the Cultural Revolution, in a village with almost nothing. He became the first person from his village to attend university and went on to earn two master’s degrees, including one from Ohio State. By every external measure, his life was going well.
But the body holds what the mind moves past. His was carrying asthma, scoliosis, chronic back pain, and a deep exhaustion he’d lived with so long he’d stopped noticing it.
The turning point came in 1997, when he returned to China for advanced training under Grand Master Pang Ming, founder of the world’s largest medicine-free Qigong hospital. There he witnessed thousands of people recovering from chronic and complex conditions, not through force or discipline, but through energy, movement, and the act of returning to the wisdom already living in the body.
Today, Master Mingtong Gu is recognized as one of the world’s leading teachers of Qigong, and the author of Coming Home to Embodied Awakening.

A full day, 9:00am–5:00pm Pacific Time, taught live by Master Mingtong Gu. Every session is part of one continuous field that deepens as the day moves.
No experience is required. All practices are adapted to what your body can receive. You arrive as you are. Many participants describe their first session with Master Mingtong as one of the most powerful healing experiences of their lives, not because they were ready, but because the field met them where they were.
JCC Marin, San Rafael, California. The full day runs 9:00am–5:00pm PT.
Both options receive the same sessions, the same teacher, and the same transmission. The difference is the room. In-person attendees share physical space with 150 fellow practitioners and with Master Mingtong directly. The felt weight of being in the same room is qualitatively different from any online experience. If you are in or near the Bay Area, the in-person invitation is close. The online option carries the full field from wherever you are.
