Join Master Mingtong Gu for a live Wisdom Healing Qigong immersion featuring gentle movement, sound, meditation, and direct transmission—online or at SouthWest Sanctuary, Santa Fe NM.
Sunday, October 4, 2026 · Live Online 9–5pm MT · In Person at Southwest Sanctuary, Santa Fe NM
This immersion may be for you if:
You do not need previous Qigong or meditation experience. You only need a willingness to begin exactly where you are.
More and more of life pulls our attention outward.
Screens.
Information.
Decisions.
Artificial intelligence.
Constant change.
The mind becomes faster while the body is asked to keep up.
Wisdom Healing Qigong begins with a simple movement in the opposite direction:
Reconnect mind and body.
When attention returns to the body, sensation becomes available again.
When sensation becomes available, energy becomes easier to feel.
Over time, you can begin to feel depleted, ungrounded, and disconnected from yourself—even when everything appears fine from the outside.
This is the doorway to Embodied Awakening.
One connection begins changing everything else—your relationship with your body, your energy, your emotions, your healing, your choices and your sense of purpose.
October 4 gives you one uninterrupted day to enter that doorway.
Wisdom Healing Qigong is an ancient energetic practice brought into the realities of modern life.
Through movement, sound, meditation, visualization and the conscious use of the mind, we learn to reconnect with the body and cultivate a more direct relationship with the energy of life.
The practice does not ask you to withdraw from a changing world. It gives you a way to meet that world without losing connection with yourself.
This is the central invitation of Coming Home to Embodied Awakening: reclaim your body, your power and your purpose in the age of AI and disruption.
The body becomes an anchor.
Energy becomes a resource.
Practice becomes a relationship.
And wisdom becomes something you live.
“Coming back to the body enabled me to come back to everything else: my wife, my kids, my grandkids, in a new light.”
— Jay
“The little girl in me is back—full swing. When she’s back, the head disappears. Things are more spontaneous.”
— Deanna
“I felt like my brain became weightless, floating just above my head. An unknown old pattern lifting away. There is a quiet, peaceful, electric aliveness dancing within this body of mine.”
— Kerry
Every person’s experience is different. These stories are not promises of what will happen for you. They point to what can become available when the body is given time, attention, practice and support.
Embodied Awakening begins when wisdom moves beyond something you understand and becomes something you can feel, experience and live.
Through the practices of Wisdom Healing Qigong—movement, sound, meditation, visualization, and conscious connection with energy—you begin to experience wisdom through the body, not only understand it through the mind.
Your mind softens.
Your body opens.
Your energy begins to move.
You may experience greater vitality, joy and peace.
You may feel a deeper connection with yourself.
You may discover clarity about something in your life that thinking alone has been unable to resolve.
Healing and awakening begin to reveal themselves as parts of the same movement toward wholeness.
You are not coming simply to collect another technique.
You are coming to experience yourself differently.
One of the foundational practices of Wisdom Healing Qigong, Lift Chi Up, Pour Chi Down—LCUPCD—was a principal method emphasized in the medicine-less Qigong center in China where Master Mingtong trained.
The practice is simple in form:
Open.
Expand.
Gather.
Receive.
Through gentle movement, attention and visualization, LCUPCD trains the body and mind to participate consciously in the exchange between the energy within us and the larger field of energy around us.
The outward movement cultivates opening and expansion.
The inward movement cultivates gathering and receiving.
With practice, energetic awareness can gradually deepen—from the hands and surface of the body toward a more interior felt experience.
On October 4, Master Mingtong will guide not only the outer movement, but the deeper energetic purpose behind it: how to relax, how to use the mind, how to visualize, how to receive and how to feel the practice from within.
For new students, this is an accessible doorway into the energetic foundation of Wisdom Healing Qigong.
For longtime practitioners, it is an opportunity to return to a familiar method with renewed precision, transmission and depth.
There is a depth of practice that becomes easier to access when we stop carrying the whole process alone.
Master Mingtong calls the shared energetic environment created through collective practice the Chi Field.
As people practice together—with intention, movement, sound, meditation and awareness—the field accumulates.
The practice deepens.
The body becomes more receptive.
What felt inaccessible can begin to soften and open.
Master Mingtong teaches live from within this field, responding to the people present and to what is unfolding in the moment.
The experience is alive.
You arrive as you are.
And together, we discover what opens.
“Every group is different. I teach each retreat as if it is the first time. That is how we create real change.”
— Master Mingtong Gu
Every person’s experience is different, but participants often describe changes that reach beyond the hours of practice:
→ A deeper connection with your body and yourself
→ Greater vitality, energy and aliveness
→ Deep peace, joy and inner spaciousness
→ More clarity, hope and a sense of your next step
→ Greater confidence in your own capacity for healing and practice
→ A direct experience of what Embodied Awakening actually means
Your experience may be subtle or powerful.
You may feel more energy.
You may feel quiet.
You may feel emotion moving.
You may simply feel more present.
You begin exactly where you are.
A class gives you practice.
A full day gives the practice time to accumulate.
A short session can open something real.
Then the phone rings.
The next meeting begins.
The mind returns to what comes next.
A full day creates a different rhythm.
You arrive.
You stop rushing.
The body begins to trust that it will not immediately be pulled away again.
Movement has time to deepen.
Stillness has time to deepen.
The Chi Field has time to build.
The difference is less about learning more.
It is about staying long enough to experience more.
TIME
The body needs uninterrupted space to open. A moment can offer a glimpse. Several hours give that opening time to deepen.
PRACTICE
Repetition turns an idea into lived experience. What begins as learning a movement can gradually become something the body recognizes and remembers.
TEACHING & TRANSMISSION
Direct guidance from a master teacher can help you recognize dimensions of practice that are difficult to discover through technique alone—the quality of relaxation, the use of the mind, energetic intention and the subtle feeling within the movement.
COMMUNITY & THE CHI FIELD
Individual practice builds capacity. Collective practice amplifies connection. The field supports each person while each person contributes to the field.
One day brings all four together.
Retreat allows them to continue.
FOR THOSE JOINING IN PERSON

October 4 gives you a direct experience of that possibility—one full day to practice, feel, and discover what you may want to continue.
“I leave with a deeper understanding that healing is not just about my physical body, but the spiritual, the emotional, the relational—all of it.”
— Mary
“I feel it on an emotional, spiritual and mental level. The whole beingness is being affected in a very positive way. And it affects how I interact with everyday life.”
— Caroline
These stories describe individual experiences. Your own experience will be unique.
Master Mingtong Gu is the founder of The Chi Center and SouthWest Sanctuary, author of Coming Home to Embodied Awakening, and a teacher of Wisdom Healing Qigong in the lineage of Grandmaster Dr. Pang Ming.
His work arises from decades of practice, teaching and direct experience with the Zhineng/Wisdom Healing Qigong tradition, including study in China at the medicine-less Qigong center where intensive practice, collective Chi Field and self-healing were central to daily life.
He has taught tens of thousands of students around the world, bringing together ancient energetic wisdom with the lived challenges of health, purpose, spiritual awakening and modern life.
His teaching centers on one experiential truth:
When mind and body reconnect, energy begins to flow differently.
From there, healing becomes more possible.
Awareness deepens.
Wisdom becomes embodied.
Life itself becomes the practice.
You do not need to arrive healed.
You do not need to arrive certain.
You do not need to understand energy before you experience it.
Bring the body you actually have.
Bring what you are carrying.
Bring your questions.
Give yourself one full day to reconnect mind and body, practice inside a powerful collective field, and explore the living energy within you and all around you.

Is this a healing workshop or a spiritual retreat?
Healing and awakening are woven together in Wisdom Healing Qigong. Some people arrive primarily interested in health, vitality or healing. Others come for spiritual practice, clarity, purpose or a deeper relationship with themselves. The common doorway is the same: reconnect mind and body and begin where you are.
What makes this different from another Qigong class?
The day is designed as a sustained immersion rather than a collection of techniques. Movement, LCUPCD, sound, meditation, teaching and transmission unfold within one continuous collective Chi Field. In person, you also enter an existing retreat field already being cultivated through sustained group practice.
What happens after the immersion?
You may simply receive the experience and take it home.
If you discover that you want more time inside the field, there will also be opportunities to continue through ongoing practice with The Path and deeper retreat experiences with Master Mingtong.
The next step becomes clearer through what you experience.
