Master Mingtong Gu

Master Mingtong Gu is a Wisdom Healing Qigong lineage holder, the founder of The Chi Center, and Qigong Master of the Year as awarded by the 13th World Congress on Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

For over 30 years, he has guided thousands of people across the world to awaken their energy, reconnect mind and body, and experience deep, lasting shifts that last long after the practice ends.
His path began under difficult circumstances. Growing up in rural China during the Cultural Revolution, he experienced hunger, poverty, and long separation from his family. Through persistence and inner resolve, he became the first from his village to attend college, earning a degree in mathematics and later two master’s degrees, including an MFA from Ohio State University.
It was during his graduate studies that he began rediscovering the wisdom of his own culture, through Taoism, Buddhism, yoga, and Qigong.

In 1997, Master Mingtong returned to China for advanced training under Dr. Pang Ming, founder of the world’s largest Qigong hospital. There, he witnessed thousands of people recover from chronic and complex conditions through a medicine-free approach grounded in energy, movement, and collective coherence. That experience shaped his life’s work.

Through consistent practice, Master Mingtong recovered from his own long-standing conditions, including asthma, scoliosis, back pain, and kidney weakness. His teaching today is built around one simple principle: activate the body’s own intelligence, and healing follows.

With this mission in mind, today he presents the Embodied Awakening Qigong Challenge: a free 5-day experience designed to help you feel how stress builds in your system, and shift it before it becomes stored pressure.
